Oranjemund Town Council has been experiencing difficulties in maintaining their gravel and surfaced road network, primarily due to insufficient funding, which has led to the deterioration of their road infrastructure to a state having potential safety concerns to the road users. Due to a lack of sufficient funding, Oranjemund Town Council approached the Road Fund Administration for funding, which was approved under the MOA Agreement. One of the roads requiring urgent repairs is the road providing access to the Oranjemund Airport, off the MR118 road. The particular road has been identified and prioritized due to its important function, servicing the Oranjemund Airport being an important gateway into Oranjemund Town. Therefore, the intention is to submit an ECC application for the upgrade of the Oranjemund Airport Access Road.
