250820006280 - THE APPLICATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN EXISTING OANOB – OANOB DAM ELECTRICAL RETICULATION SYSTEM.

Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for operation and maintenance of the Oanob – Oanob Dam electrical reticulation system and associated infrastructures to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Oanob - Oanob Dam Reticulation route runs from Oanob Substation to the Namwater Oanob Dam Pump Station southwest of the Oanob Dam area with T-Off lines servicing the military base and the general Oanob area in Hardap region. The Oanob - Oanob Dam electrical reticulation system has a total length of 8.5 km and is constructed with wooden pole structures.
