THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE RENEWAL IS FOR: o Activity 1(b) – Energy Generation, Transmission and Storage Activities The transmission and supply of electricity (i.e. powerlines) o Activity 8(5) – Water Resource Developments The construction of dams, reservoirs, levees and weirs o Activity 8(6) – Water Resource Developments The construction of domestic wastewater treatment plant and related pipelines o Activity 8(8) – Water Resource Developments Construction and other activities in water courses within flood lines (i.e. culverts and bridges within rivers and tributaries) o Activity 10.1(b) – Infrastructure The construction of public roads. 2. DETAILS OF THE ACTIVITY(S) COVERED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE: 2.1 Title of the Activity Elisenheim Township Bulk Infrastructure (water reservoir, electricity lines, sewage treatment plant and dam, roads). Location of Activity Elisenheim Township is situated approximately 8.5 km north of Windhoek, Khomas Region. Coordinates – Latitude: -22.445473° Longitude: 17.081860°. 2.3 Nature of Activity The larger Elisenheim township provides for 22 Extensions of approximately 10,000 erven of different land uses (i.e., business, office, residential, institutional, public open space, private open spaces) to be developed in different phases over time. Phase 1 (Elisenheim Proper) has been developed, which included roads and storm water, underground power lines, water reservoir and water pipelines, as well as sewage treatment plant with reticulation network and effluent storage dam. 2.4 Scale and Scope of the Activity • Public roads • Wastewater treatment plant with effluent dam • Water reservoir with water reticulation network • Electricity network.
