250409005670 - THE APPLICATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN EXISTING ROCK – ARIAMSVLEI ELECTRICAL RETICULATION SYSTEM INCLUDING ARIAMSVLEI SUBSTATION AND OTHER ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURES.

Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for the operation and maintenance of existing Rock – Ariamsvlei electrical reticulation system to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This reticulation system runs from Rock substation to Ariamsvlei substation and supply electricity to Ariamsvlei and surrounding areas in //Karas region. The reticulation is 91.3 km in length and is constructed with wooden pole structures. Ariamsvlei substation station covers a footprint of about 148 m².
