Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the issue ECC for 66kV Aranos– Stampriet to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This transmission line runs from Aranos substation to Stampriet substation in Hardap region and is 76.9 km in length. The line is constructed with wooden H – Pole structures. Aranos substation covers a footprint of about 3 157 m².
