241211005063 - THE APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE OF AUAS TRANSMISSION STATION AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURES IN KHOMAS REGION

The ECC is the operation and maintenance of the Auas Transmission Station in Khomas Region. In 2020 NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of the Auas Transmission Station. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for the Auas Transmission Station in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. Auas substation is located about 35 km outside Windhoek. The substation consists of low, medium and high voltage yards as well as storerooms, control rooms and offices. The lines connecting to the substation are: 400kV Auas – Kokerboom; 220kV Auas – Hardap 1&2; 220kV Van Eck – Auas 1, 2, & 3; 132 kV Auas – Omaere 1; 132 kV Auas – Naruchas.
