Kaap Agri Omitara is part of Kaap Agri Namibia, a division of the larger Kaap Agri Group, a well-established agricultural services company with deep roots in southern Africa. Located in the small settlement of Omitara, within the Omaheke Region of Namibia, this branch plays a pivotal role in supporting the agricultural needs of the local farming community. Omitara is situated approximately 100 kilometers east of Windhoek, an area primarily known for livestock farming, especially cattle and small stock. Kaap Agri Omitara provides essential agricultural supplies, services, and products that help sustain these farming activities. The store offers a range of farming inputs, including animal feed, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fencing materials, and farming equipment. Additionally, it supplies fuel, hardware, and general household items, making it a one-stop shop for farmers and rural residents in the area. As a part of Kaap Agri's extensive network, the Omitara branch benefits from the company's broad expertise in agriculture, access to high-quality products, and tailored services aimed at boosting farm productivity and sustainability. The store not only supports commercial farmers but also small-scale and emerging farmers who rely on access to affordable and reliable agricultural inputs. In a rural area like Omitara, Kaap Agri serves as a critical infrastructure hub, offering support and expertise that help farmers adapt to Namibia’s often harsh climatic conditions, including droughts and water shortages. Beyond providing products, Kaap Agri Omitara also fosters strong relationships with the farming community, offering technical advice, support for livestock management, and access to farming innovations. The presence of Kaap Agri in Omitara strengthens the local agricultural sector, contributing to food security and economic stability in the region, while also facilitating the growth of rural businesses and enhancing community resilience. The fuel supplied is sourced from Engen Namibia (Pty) Ltd, who owns the installations, and is stored in an above ground tank of 23 m3 capacity. The existing Engen installations have a valid Consumer License approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The site operations and installation are in accordance with Engen Namibia (Pty) Ltd policies and regulations. The general amenities offered at the site consist mainly of the fuel facilities for own use; off-loading of fuel from fuel tankers; administration and control centre offices; ablution and change house facilities for staff. ENGEN Namibia (Pty) Ltd as a leading marketer of liquid fuels and lubricants in the country aims to ensure that all their clients and facilities are compliant with the relevant environmental and industry legislation. It is against this background that Engen has appointed Environam Consultants Trading (ECT) to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for this site on their behalf.
