241111004934 - THE APPLICATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN EXISTING 220kV KHAN – TREKKOPJE TRANSMISSION LINE INCLUDING TREKKOPJE SUBSTATION AND OTHER ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURES.

The ECC is for the operation and maintenance of an existing 220kV Khan – Trekkopje transmission line including Trekkopje Substation and other associated infrastructures. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC of the operation and maintenance for ECC for 220kV Khan – Trekkopje in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This application also includes Trekkopje Substations and other associated Infrastructures.
