The ECC is for the operation and maintenance of an existing 132kv Trekkopje – Wlotzka Transmission line including Wlotzka, Dolerite, Lichen Substations And other associated Infrastructure. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the issue of the ECC for 132kV Trekkopje – Wlotzka in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This application also includes Wlotzka, Dolerite, Lichen substations and other associated infrastructure.
