240828004609 - THE APPLICATION TO RENEW THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF EXISTING 66KV REHOBOTH – BLUMFELDE TRANSMISSION LINE INCLUDING BLUMFELDE, REHOBOTH SUBSTATIONS AND OTHER ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURES.

The ECC is for the operation and maintenance of an existing 66kv Rehoboth – Blumfelde transmission line including Blumfelde, Rehoboth Substations and other associated infrastructures. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. In 2020, NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the maintenance and operation of the 66kV Rehoboth– Blumfelde transmission line. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for 66kV Rehoboth– Blumfelde powerline in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This application also includes Rehoboth, Blumfelde Substations and other associated Infrastructures that were not previously included.
